WC VII - Gratitude and Platitude
As usual, the list of folks who helped to make Weenie Con VII special is a long one.
First and foremost is Jen, who once again coordinated food for the ravenous hordes. The lunches and dinners were delicious, nutritious, and plentiful. No one went away hungry. Thank you Jen!!!!!
Mike and Kimmie hand made the Top Secret Operation Weenie Con VII notebooks. The weenie dog covering combined with the personalized interior covers were a spectacular touch.
Jeff donated a copy of Dominant Species and container full of candy as a raffle prize for the weekend. All participants were given a free guess to count the candies in the jar and game winners were given extra entries. Twenty four entries were made during the weekend.
Scott won the contest with a guess of 573, only six away from the actual count of 567, and won the game. Paul came in second with a guess of 557 and took home the jar of candy. Thanks much, Jeff, for the extra fun.
CJ handed out bars of soup with d20’s embedded in them from Geeky Clean. Each bar had a special gamer scent, such as Barbarian Scrub. Is he trying to tell us something?
Everyone conspired with Scott’s mom to surprise him with an early birthday cake and song. It was a great surprise. Special thanks to Felix for doing much of the leg work and for everyone else who helped to make the arrangements.
Holly and Clint Wallington stopped by to drop off k-bars. They were so delicious, folks made quite a dent in the big box of sugary yumminess by Monday.
Other visitors also added to the weekend festivities. Sue Michel, her sister Barb and niece Amanda stopped by mid-day on Saturday. Michele Marchioli, dad Nick, and friend Joe came by for dinner bringing along some yummy Shepard’s Pie and nacho dip. Michele joined in for Monster Rampage and Sue returned for some gaming Sunday evening.
Thanks to everyone who attended and added to the fun of another Weenie Con weekend.

Maybe in 2013?
Once again I was unable to attend. You would think that 2800 miles wouldn't be so much of an obstacle? Who knew? :)
Thanks to Mike and Kim for the neat Weenie Con VII notebook and to Scott for sending it out here to me. Helene says it just confirms my geekiness. I've tried to explain the Weenie concept but she just rolls her eyes and says, "Whatever."
While I won't be able to attend next year, I have tentatively penciled in for 2013. Hopefully life won't throw anything into the mix that messes this up.
Sounds like everyone had a fun time, as usual. Keep up the insanity!
Thank You For A Fun Time
Thank you to everyone for a fun time this Weenie Con.
It was really nice to see everyone and chat about life, the universe, and everything.
Scott was once again the host with the most. Thank you for hosting this spectacular, star studded event.
The food was as yummy as the friendship was warm. Thank you, Jen and Andrew.
I really enjoyed lots of the games we played this year. It was fun playing a few old favorites as well as numerous new (to me at least) games. I think Battlestar Galactica and Bang! may be come a annual traditions.
Thank you to CJ for roleplaying Starbuck so well ... accusing me of being a cylon the entire game until I expended five cards in a row from my hand to save his ass in viper-to-raider combat.
Thank you, Jeff, for introducing me to Dominant Species and Argricola (however it's pronounced). And for the fun contest. I was amazed at how close folks got to the correct number of M&Ms!
Paul and Stephen, thank you for the feisty competition in every game.
Thanks!
Thanks to Scott for being the ever gracious host who even let some of us beat him in a game without tossing us out into the dark, cold night.
Thanks to Mike and Kimmie for the cool Weenie Con memorabilia. Even my wife thought the weenie dog notebook looked cool.
Thanks to CJ for the nifty soap. Once the encased die is freed from the soap I'll be sure to bring it with me during the next Weenie Con event. At least I won't have to worry about anyone trying to bogart my die with them knowing full well that it has "seen" every bit of my body in the shower. ;)
It was good seeing everyone again. I'm already looking forward to our next event.
